We could have a conversation about if you should or should not get a flu-shot. I could tell you there are essentially two types of flu shots, the nasal inhalation virus (a living but weakened form of the virus), and the injection (a killed virus). When the vaccine enters your body, your body (so the theory goes) creates anti-bodies to the different types of viruses that were introduced in the vaccine. This (supposedly) gives you protection to those virus types.
While there are literally, thousands of strains of the influenza virus, a flu shot will only protect against 3 or 4 (depending on whether you receive a trivalent or quadrivalent vaccination). It’s also important to understand that the influenza virus is constantly mutating to create new strains.
I could also strongly suggest that you actually read the package insert before you decide about the flu shot and understand what all the ingredients and preservatives actually do to your body. I could tell you about the Cell Cultures, Stabilizers (sucrose, gelatin, or polysorbate 80), Adjuvants (aluminum salts are added to the vaccine in order to stimulate an immune response to the killed virus), Inactivating ingredients (Formaldehyde is added to the vaccine during the production process in order to prevent bacterial contamination) Preservatives (Thimerosal (mercury) is added to multi-dose vials of the flu shot) or Antibiotics (Penicillin or other sulfa drugs are added to the vaccines in order to prevent bacterial contamination).
But I won’t.
Instead, I will tell you of a better way. The “No Flu” Shot way. Simple. Inexpensive. Readily available. Actual protection from the “Flu Season, ” which is actually NOT a season. It is a time when you don’t get outside as much so you have decreased sun exposure. You usually have decreased water intake as well. Perhaps you eat too many cookies and sweets.
Stop eating CRAP (Carbonated, Refined, Artificial, Processed). Limit your exposure to aluminum, mercury, and other neurotoxins. Read the label (on everything, including body products). Focus on organic or non-GMO. Eliminate the “chemical” stuff all around you, like plastic.
Build good health. Eat Real Food. Eat an entire Rainbow Spectrum of food. Add Herbs and Healing Spices. Make Fresh Juice. Use Essential Oils. Drink Ginger Tea. Take Elderberry Syrup. Make Chicken Soup. Drink Bone Broth. Bundle up and go outside. Go for a drive and roll the windows down. Laugh. Love.
